Nichols scores emotional 16th win of the year at Crawford County

Tonight was a very special night. We won our 16th race of the season and had a special guest ride with. Those who know me from racing likely remember my father, Stan, who passed away last November. Today would have been his 81st bday. When he was nearing the end, I had told him I didn’t know how I could race without him. To make sure I kept racing, he made me promise to dump his ashes out in victory lane after a win some night. I thought it appropriate to take some ashes tonight on his birthday. We had a COVID computer draw which put us on the pole. (I think dad helped with that) in victory lane, I honored dad’s wishes and introduced him to victory lane. I love and miss you dad. Thank you for everything! ?? Happy heavenly birthday.
